Built for the Words With Friends board

Drop your rack into the box and the solver returns every valid Words With Friends play, scored with WWF tile values and ranked highest first. It draws on a dictionary of 281,649 words, so you get the full range from quick two-letter hooks to game-swinging long words. Add a ? or * for each blank tile and the solver fills it with whatever letter builds the best word.

WWF tile values are not Scrabble values

This trips up a lot of crossover players. Words With Friends uses its own tile scores — for example, several letters that are cheap in Scrabble cost more here, and the board layout places its bonus squares differently too. Because of that, the same word can be worth a different number in each game. That is exactly why this tool scores with WWF values rather than reusing the Scrabble word finder numbers.

The ENABLE-based dictionary

Words With Friends validates plays against a word list built on ENABLE, which differs in places from the Scrabble NWL and Collins lists. A word that is fine in Scrabble may be rejected in WWF, and vice versa. The Dictionary menu keeps results limited to what WWF actually accepts, so nothing on your list gets bounced. You can double-check any answer against our word lists.

Blanks and board bonuses

The score shown is the face value of your tiles before the board does its work. Aim a heavy tile at a Triple Letter square, or run a whole word across a Triple Word lane, and the real total climbs well past what you see here. Use the Pattern tab to play off a tile already on the board: fix the known letters and leave the open squares as ?.

Fast and mobile-friendly

Most WWF games happen on a phone, so the solver is built to be thumb-friendly — big tap targets, instant results, and no app to install. Tap a word to copy it and drop it straight onto your board. If you just want to see every word a set of letters can make regardless of game, switch over to the plain word unscrambler.
